The People module allows you to organize your faculty easily by school or department. Allowing you to move or share them anywhere on your site with ease.




How do I add a new person in Campus Suite?

To add people to Campus Suite, navigate to whichever department you would like to add the person to and do the following steps.

  1. Click the green +Create in the upper right-hand corner and select Person
  2. Enter the information for the event, fields and their descriptions are listed below;
    • Title
    • Prefix
    • First Name
    • Middle Name
    • Last name
    • Suffix
    • Slug - This is auto-filled with the first, middle, last name and suffix It can be customized. Please note changing the wording on a Slug field can cause broken links across your site. Proceed with caution.
    • Image - Select the beginning date and time of the event.
    • Tags (Optional) - Select a tag, if you are using a widget to display tagged people. See the Tags article for additional information.
    • Abstract (Optional) - Text that you would like to be shown in the list view of the widget.
      Note - If nothing is entered, a portion of the text entered into the biography will be displayed without any applied styles, images or line breaks. Creating a 'preview' of the actual biography. 
    • Biography - Biography of the person. This can include images and links.
    • Office Location
    • Mail Location
    • Primary Email - If the person has an email, enter it here.
    • Primary Phone
    • Primary Fax
    • Primary Link - If the person has a personal site, enter the URL for it here.

  3. After you've filled out the necessary information, make sure to click the Save --> Publish options just as you would when you're editing pages.






  • How do I find a list of people associated with a department?
    To see a list of people associated with a department in Campus Suite, navigate to the department that they are kept in and click on People in the module list.

  • What does the vertical color bar to the left of a person's profile mean?
    On the left side of the person's name you will see a vertical bar, normally this will be grey but it can also be green which means that it is live (viewable by visitors to the site).

  • What is the status of a person's profile?
    You can find the status of a person by looking to the left of the person's name, there you will find if it is LIVE, if there is a DRAFT of the profile, if it is SCHEDULED to be made live, if it is SHARED and finally if it is LOCKED, meaning someone else is working on it.
    • How can I find out what department is sharing a person's profile?
      If a person's profile is marked as SHARED you can quickly find out what department is sharing it by looking under its title for Owned by.

  • How do I set a person's profile so it is published at a later date/time?
    You can easily set a later publication date/time when saving a person by choosing Publish Content and setting the date/time you would like it to be made live. Please note, this will not override any dates/times that are set for items such as alerts or articles, they will still be made live on the times set for those items.

  • How do I revert to an older version of a person's profile?
    To revert to a previous version of a profile in Campus Suite, click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the person's profile and select View Live History from the menu. On the following screen select the version you would like to revert to by clicking on the arrow to the right of the version and finally Back to profile List to return to view the profile list view of the current department.

    Please note that this option will not be available if the profile has never been made live before.

  • How do I find a list of past drafts of a person's profile?
    To view a list of past drafts for a profile, click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the person's profile and select View Past Drafts from the menu. For more information on the Drafts Menu please visit the article 'What are Drafts?' To return to the people list view of the current department click on Back to Profile List.

    • How do I clone a draft?
      If for some reason you find that you need to clone a draft, for example when it has been rejected or closed, click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the profile's title and select View Past Drafts from the menu. On the following screen click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the correct draft and select Clone Content from the menu, then Save --> Save as New Draft.

  • How do I edit a person's profile in Campus Suite?
    To edit a profile in Campus Suite, navigate to the department that it is kept in, click on Profiles in the module list and then the Pencil icon to the right of the person's profile.

  • How do I duplicate a person's profile?
    To duplicate a profile, navigate to the department that it is stored in, click on Profiles in the module list, then click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the person's profile and select Clone Content from the menu. Enter the Title of the duplicate profile and click on the spinning arrow icon to the right of Slug to refresh the slug and then Save --> Save as New Draft or Submit for Publication.

  • How do I move a person's profile to another container (department)?
    To move a profile, navigate to the department that it is stored in, click on Profiles in the module list, then click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the profile's title and select Move To... from the menu. Finally, select the container (department) you would like for it to be moved to.

  • How do I share or stop sharing a person's profile with multiple departments?
    To share a profile between multiple departments, navigate to the department that it is kept in, click on Profiles in the module list then click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the person's profile and select Share from the menu. Finally, select the container (department) you would like for it to be shared with and then Share at the bottom of the window.

    To stop sharing an alert, navigate to the department that it is kept in, click on Profiles in the module list and click on the three vertical dots located to the right of the person's profile and select Share from the menu  Finally select the container (department) that you would like to stop sharing the post with and then Share at the bottom of the window.

  • How do I delete a person's profile?
    To delete a profile,  navigate to the department that it is stored in, click on Profiles in the module list, then click on the vertical of three dots located to the right of the profile's title and select Delete from the menu. Please remember once a profile is deleted it cannot be recovered.







What is Alternate Titles?

Alternate titles are titles that are different than the one entered into a person's Basic profile. For example, a person might be a science teacher and the football coach for a school. By entering an Alternate Title for a person, then selecting a department and finally sharing their profile with that department, the alternate title will be displayed instead of the title entered into their profile in the department that the alternate title has been assigned to.


How can I add an Alternate title to a profile?

To add an alternate title to a person's profile you will need to do the following;

  1. Go to the person's Profile and click on Alternate Titles.
  2. Enter the Alternate Title and then select the Department that the title will be assigned to. 
  3. After entering the alternate title and selecting a department, make sure to click the Save --> Publish options just as you would when you're editing pages.
  4. Finally, if you haven't already, Share the person's profile with the department that you assigned the alternate title to. 


How many alternate tiles can a profile have?

Each profile can have up to four alternate titles.
