Navigate to whichever page you would like to add the News widget

  1. Click Edit Page
  2. Click either + Content or the Settings icon (down-facing arrow) which will be located to the right of Edit where you will need to select either Insert before or Insert after
  3. Choose one of the three News-related widgets (Carousel, List, or Grid).  I will use "List" for this explanation
  4. From the Department option, select where the News items you are pulling from are located
  5. The Tags field allows you to set the widget to display only those posts that are tagged with a specific tag.
  6. Select how many articles to display. "Default" will show all of them. We recommend 3-5 items.
  7. For the List Heading you can enter whatever header you'd like to show above your News List . . . or you can opt to not have a heading. Your choice.
  8. The Heading Size just determines how large that heading will be.
  9. The Description is just that . . . an explanation of what information is being displayed. We usually leave it blank, but you're welcome to add information.
  10. The Title Sizes refer to the titles of each News article.
  11. The Thumbnails allow you to control how large a graphic associated with the News article is, or to not display them at all.
  12. Chose to display Dates and Teasers. By default, both options are on.
  13. Select if you want to enable the Read More link for each item listed.
  14. The View Link Text allows you to create a text link pointing back to the module list. If blank, the link will not display.
  15. Finally select if you want to enable a Subscribe/RSS Link (RSS feed) which by default, is off. Note: Some browsers do not handle RSS feeds so code will be displayed on the screen. An external RSS reader will need to be used by visitors if they are using Chrome.
  16. When you are finished, click on the green Create button and your News widget will show up on the page.
  17. Make sure to click either the Publish or the Save Draft option just as you would when you're editing pages.
